#101 ~ Ohhh ... keep it PG

I know it is not an offer you will get every day, but do you want to see my backside?

Progress as at 29/07/2019

... and it is not normally something that I go around offering.

It's quite tidy, although the areas of heavy confetti are very thick.

Progress has moved on a bit since this photograph, but not as much as I'd hoped.  I've started a small bit of page 4, and am so close to finishing page 1.

Disappointingly, I probably will not get anything more done until Sunday, but then will have the pedal to the metal to get page 1 done and most definitely dusted.

There is also no time to get any homework for magical stitches completed, but the good news is I have completed the Race for 10k, and am sweating towards the #50kxstitchchallenge finish line, and should be able to get to the bonus section well before the 31st December 2019 deadline.

Happy stitching.

#100 ~ Switching to diagonal stitching on Russian Icon WIP

Now that I have about a 10 second commute, 12 if the dog is in the way, after work.  I've decided to have a sit down with a coffee project that can be done with mag eyes, and this week it's the Russian Icon.

As I am so used to stitching on the diagonal, I have decided to convert it from top down, and managed about 3 rows before we had to stop to prepare supper.

It's not going to be very difficult to make the switch, and it is easier to do.  Although, I have had to change my methodology and working my stitches top right to bottom left, and then bottom left to top right - which feels arse about face as since I been working on Colin.

To be honest, the switch back to 14 count Aida is more difficult that changing the way I am stitching on this project.  It feels like a football pitch in between each hole.  Clearly, 25 count 1 over 1 is my medium, and I will be sticking to it once my smaller wips are out of the way.

I bet it's nice for you to see a different project on here ... but don't get too excited as I am jut about to start my after supper stitching on Colin.

My entire house stinks of smoke, as some numb nuts at the back of us has started a huge bonfire in his 20 foot deep garden.  If I lived next door I swear I would have turned hose on him.

Happy stitching y'all.

#99 ~ Why the DVLA are idiots, WIP progress and ironically parking ...

Let's start with my progress, as it is a lot more interesting than the DVLA (driving licensing).

Colin the Crow is going along a pace, and since this this picture this morning I've completed the diagonal and will start again on the next one (I've already started it in the week).

Ironically - as you understand in a minute - I'm going to just say a little bit about parking.  As you know, I stitch diagonally row by row and stitch by stitch, and park to the next time the symbol appears mostly in the working diagonal, but if not then to the side into the next.  I try not to go more than 15/20 stitches to do this, and will end my thread if I do.

Working this way, will mean that at some point you will have multiple threads in play at the same time, and to I've developed a method where I will park threads into the same hole and then end off the longest of the threads ... that way they will be sewn in ... and it makes my life easier.

After my night's sleep at the Sleep Clinic I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea Syndrome.  The Clinic told me to let the DVLA know, but they'd write to me with details of what I would need to do.  They then handed me my wonderful CPAP machine and sent me on my way.

Two days later the letter arrived, along with a leaflet and it re-iterated that I should let the DVLA know.  So, I drove to work, and rang the number I was given to advise them.  The B*&tar*s put a hold on my licence, and I was stranded at work unable to drive.  My boss was super lovely about it, and arranged for me to get a lift home, and that I could work from home as a temporary measure until the Sleep Clinic have confirmed to DVLA that the CPAP machine is working.  The thing that is pissing me (pardon my French, but I am so angry), is that I have had this un-diagnosed for years, and only really do short journeys during day light hours ... not to mention that I have had to wait for seven months to get my Sleep Clinic appointment, but the DVLA are not interested in any of that.  With one call my life has been turned upside down, and I'm being treated now.  Arghghgghghgh!!!!!!

On the plus side, working from home is lovely and quiet and I am achieving so much more than I would do in the office.

Fingers crossed I will soon be gifted back my licence.

#98 ~ HAED progress on Colin the Crow and WTF!

Progress as at 14/07/2019
HAED Crow on Crescent Hill

It's been one of those months so far ... the month in which I discover that a solicitor has screwed something up without me realising it and now I am having go expend time and energy trying to get them to put their mistake to rights ... and as I told the nice lady on the phone just now NO, we are not paying for the solicitors to correct this, as it was their mistake in the first place.  It is just as well I have loads of energy due to my new CPAP machine.

Anyhoo, that's enough vague nonsense about the trials of buying and selling a property, I will not cut to the chase on the stitching - a page finish for page one is within touching distance.

I've been busy gardening so didn't do as much stitching as I thought, but I think that when I update my stats file I will be close to finishing the Race for 10K.

No homework last was completed for #magicalstitches, as I missed the deadline for uploading my progress.  I will try and participate this week, and need to go off and read the homework.

I will also add a quick update on #projectgarden page on here - more for my own records than anybody else, but if you are interested that would be lovely.

#97 ~ Project Garden Update

I've just come in from the garden ... boy oh boy, it's hot out there.

There's a Project Garden Update HERE, I've also included a bit of a life update on there as well.

I'm off to shower and get ready to take Russ the Dog to the vets later on, but think that I can fit in a bit of stitching before that.

#96 ~ Night, night ... and not sleep tight ...

Progress as at 7th July 2019
HAED Crow on Crescent Hill

has pretty much been the story of my life for some time now, and I was extremely happy to attend the Sleep Clinic to see if they had a solution for me.

The were a lovely bunch, and have arranged for me to have a sleep over immediately.  I will be attached to monitoring equipment to confirm what they think is the problem.  Essentially, I have a small head and narrow air-passages along with an over-bite which mean I am pretty much like an over-bred Pug that has trouble breathing, especially when I relax, and particularly when I sleep.

The only downside will be that I won't really be able to take my stitching with me, and will be away from the Fam.  Thank goodness it should be for only one night.

Progress has moved on from the picture above, and I've done about half of the diagonal.  I'll try and update the blog with the progress tomorrow night, if I can find time to grab a new photo between finishing work, packing my things and heading off to the hospital.

I haven't worked on the Alpaca since starting Colin the Crow, and am getting anxious to do some more work on it, so am considering keeping Alpaca was a weekend project, and working on Colin in the week.  I just need to get another set of scroll bars so that I don't have to keep taking each project off the bars.  Although, the good news for me is that I can get away with a slightly shorter bar for Colin - probably a 29".  I need to bite the bullet and look on Needleneeds to see how long the wait will be for the new bars.

Have a good evening, see you on the other side of my sleep over adventure.

#95 ~ Race for 10k FTLODCS Facebook Challenge

Rats, Facebook isn't uploading photos, so this is a really quick updating post with my photo of the project so far.

I've done 727 stitches for this week (Week 7) which is cumulative total for the challenge of 6,496 with 3,504 stitches to meet the 10k target.

As usual recently, this is Crow on Crescent Hill (aka Colin) which is a HAED design.

All other time stats are on the page at the top of the blog in a google docs file if you want to see my progress.

#94 ~ The once in which I Crow about my progress ...

in the #50kxstitchchallenge and #racefor10k

HAED Crow on Crescent Hill (aka Colin)
progress as at 2/7/2019

... see what I did there ... Crow ... the girl is funnnnyyy!

Sorry, I think working on this project is turning me even more crazy.

I have 14,017 stitches left to do to complete the 50k challenge and 3,554 left in the Race for 10k.  I've also done 200 stitches (2 points) towards my #magical stitches homework.

There are about four more diagonals to complete on page 1 of Colin the Crow, and then I will definitely swap it back out for the Alpaca, as I am missing it.

I have also been looking at some of the HAED Quick Stitch patterns during my brief lunch breaks, and will definitely be treating myself to one to provide a start for our wedding anniversary later this month - I just need to decide which one.  Any suggestions?

I'm off to read for a bit.  Nightie night.
