Well, green actually. At least green with beautiful buds of spring yellow.
Just part of my table collection outside the front door.
The table is an old console table that we’ve had for years, which was uckydark brown varnish. It was in the way so I moved it outside to take it to the recycling centre, and then used it for a Christmas display.
It has weathered down, and will now be a keeper. Although the Darling One will give it a coast of silk varnish when I’ve reached the right amount of wear, which will also protect it from water damage.
In the Summer I will switch out these pots for something tropical looking, but the will have to be able to take full sun for a large proportion of the day.
I’m off work now, and plan to stitch and do laundry for most of the day, with the roofer coming tomorrow and a big skip to clear the accumulated detritus from the building works ready for the garage refurbishment.
I’ll check back in tomorrow.

Advancing ever onwards
Helicopter circling around ... looking for somebody? It happened when we first moved here about 7 years ago, and the person they were looking for ran through our garden and then jumped over the hedge to what he probably thought was the same height. Nah, it is about a qt plus foot drop and he did himself really bad harm. Lawlessnes does not pay off folks ... God always wins!

I’m loving it but as I’ve had to order in the colours Heathfield Crafts didn’t have I’ll be putting it away to work on Alpaca tonight.
I have everything crossed that the colours will turn up tomorrow, in which case she will come right back out.
I managed to prep more bags this morning before work, and have just sewn and pressed them. Still more in the works ...it is going to be Herculean task lovely ones.

0.52% completed, but I am sadly missing 939 - super frustrating, but I’ve ordered it from Amazon.

Mother’s Day gift from youngest child ... thanks Lu.
Target: to complete 10% ...I don’t think that will be a stretch as so far it is a smooth stitch.

This one is going away for a bit as I’ve exceeded my goal of 5%.
I have an appointment to pick up the threads I need to kit up a new start, so provided they have the ones I need I will start a little something new tomorrow.

Until then here is my progress, I am clipping along nicely and just reached a section of reasonable confetti when my tablet battery ran out, so I’ve called it a night.
I’d just broken open a pack of John James gold needles too.

...and another diagonal done too (plus a bit more here and there to finish off threads).
The colours in this piece make my heart go pitter-patter, they are so very lovely.
I was up early today and have made a further 11 floss bags.

This would not be for everyone... but it is how I’ll be storing my WIP flosses.
By way of context I have a master set of floss stored in 12x12 RUB paper storage tubs that the darling one has added threaded metal bars on either side (it was a lockdown solution until I can get to IKEA for a filing cabinet). In the master set each floss has an Annie’s keeper. I then keep all floss for WIPs in numbered wage envelopes - a few strands normally - in a Wham box for all of the HAED projects on the go.
The only problem is that I have run out of wage envelopes, and had to resort to paper bags as well, plus the constant thumbing through for colours has made them ratty.
Now, I have a small country’s worth of fat quarters that I either don’t care for or would probably not use, so this is a relatively cheap solution for me...Floss Baggies for each colour. Yes, I know there a Floss Away bags or IKEA seal bags, but I find them too slippy.
Calico would be a cheap plain option if matching was an issue I guess.
My new bags take a few minutes to make and have iron in heavy weight interfacing in them for heft. So far, the only cost was for Hemline Fusible Name Label Tape, which comes with a stencil and special pen to write each number on, I think I got a couple of packs for about £4 from Amazon.
I have left a little bit of space next to the number to stitch in a piece of the relevant number floss for quick reference purposes.
This is obviously an ongoing project to convert them, but I love the process and now I’ve figured out the size to nicely fit the Wham Box I can do batch production to have enough to cover what is in my box, plus spares for new colours.

Such pretty, pretty colours on the left hand side...as you can see I strayed off the diagonal a bit towards the end of it.
Also started a new diagonal from the top, and have been relatively “amendment” free. I think keeping Pattern Keeper zoomed right up on the area I am working on helps, also I have been doing waste thread starts and ends, which are giving a nicer appearance.
I was shooting for 5% completed, but might push on with this for a bit.
