#412 - Contemporary Cross - Custard Cream Dream Mini - 34.60%

 

Just in time for the end of the yea, I have a page finish.  Page two in fact, which is marked with the gold pin.  It is a couple of lines up from the tower bottom.

I am hoping after dinner that I can finish off that tower, and make in-roads to page three, which is less confetti.

As I think the #TeresamademedoitSAL is not due to kick off until 19:00 hours tomorrow I migh, with a following win, get that page finished too.

I have to finish off the fish pie and put the cabbage on to steam, but will carry on stitching until the bitter end of 2022.

#410 - Contemporary Cross - Custard Cream Dream Mini - 30.62% completed

 

Actually, I've done 31.00% plus. and a total of 1,017 stitches today.  I've also fully completed full width of pattern towers on lines 61 to 80, and started working on the next set of towers down - lines 81 to 100.  Not bad progress since both 24th and 25th were no stitch days.

We all had an awesome Xmas here, and have eaten and drunk far too much yummy-ness.  I sincerely hope you and yours have had the most blessed time too.

I only have a few days left until 31st December, but am hopeful that I can complete page 1, and fingers crossed page 2 in that time.

1st January will see Custard Cream Dream Mini coming off the frame, and a new start going on there.  Yes, it is time for the Fancy Lady new year/new start SAL #TeresamademedoitSAL. Teresa being the famous Teresa Little Stitcher on YouTube.  I've chosen two of them for the SAL, one was a Christmas present, Mini Infanta Isabel de Bourbon

225 W by 363 H and charted for 25 count.  I had some 28 count for my birthday, and might give that a try, but will decide when I prep it, which will obviously have to be before Sunday.

To follow in a month of so (as I was not lucky to receive it as a gift, so will purchase it myself) Contemporary Cross charting of Little Fish Designs 'Charm of Hummingbirds' mini version.  I would add an image, but they are difficult to copy from their site.  HERE is the link to it however.  When I have purchased the chart I will print out the mockup and take a photograph of it on my frame.  As it too, is a very fancy lady I will also be including her as a separate entry in the stitch along.

WIPS by that time will be out of hand, and Rotation a semblance of memory.  Therefore, I think that I will stitch SALs for two weeks a piece, and the rest for one, starting with Isabel, then Alpaca,Custard Cream Dream, Magic Book, Patron Saint of Green Chile, Aquarius, and back to Isabel again to start over.  When I start Charm of Hummingbirds I intend to slot it in after Magic Book

Alpaca is my oldest WIP, and has the most progress on it, so at some time I will give it a two week slot, and randomly, and see how we go with it.  It could be that nearer the 80% mark on it I will make it a focus piece.  The idea going forward is to have a new start when I have a finish.  Let's see how that goes, as I have gone from monogamous to start what the hell I want without out a care stitcher in less than three years.  Thank goodness I am about the process and not the finish, but even so I have too many WIPS on the go!

#409 - Wreath Making

 

I finally finished the wreath.

It’s a copper wire which has been tied with larks head knots if butchers string, and my usual little rusted heart tied to on at bottom.

I just need to find the external lights to wind around it.

#408 - Contemporary Cross - Custard Cream Dream Mini - 25% completed

 I managed 1,106 yesterday, which was a miracle in itself as I had lots of jobs to do, and did not start stitching until late afternoon.

Did you notice in the subject line the percentage?  Yes, a quarter of the way through, and nearly another FWoP set of towers should be finished by tonight.

As there is the beginnings of his sweet little head in this current set of towers, 8 am excited for the ne t ones.  It can’t be exactly thrilling for you to see dark background for so long.  Well, actually, it is not that long really, I only started this piece in mid-November!  It’s certainly been a quick stitch to this point.

The Christmas tree has arrived in the lounge after a challenging journey from upstairs - darling hubby has been working on the stairs installing panelling, and so we had to clear up tools to get to the cupboard. Youngest kid is off today, and he will decorate the thing.  For anyone who is new, or does not know me, I hate and cannot bear decorations up before my birthday.

A run down of this week … we saw Avatar, I bought a new wheeled trolley from Hobby craft, my birthday on her purchases arrived (three appliqué books), I’m  leaning and tidying out cupboards for the dreaded event.

I am if nothing else an oxymoron, because as much as I dislike the C word, I love the music, and you can’t beT a good Xmas  live.  I can highly recommend’Your Christmas or mine’, it was laugh out loud all the way through.

I got behind with updates I am afraid, but there are photos of a few from end of November and early December posted in other posts below.

I think that there are about 2,100 odd stitches to finish off the next set of towers across the pattern, which will be lines 41 to 60.  The good news for you all is that it will contain bits of a guinea!
