#142 ~ Lady Luda

The DMC Diamant stitches like a dream; I'm totally in love with it.

As you can see, I've just done a small section of the gold.  Now, DMC advise that the single strand off the bobbin is the equivalent of 2 stands, but I found it to be just a leeetttle too thin.  I decided that I would use 2 strands for a thicker feel on the gold, and 1 strand and a single strand of DMC 01 Tin with the silver, and am very pleased with the result.

I now need all the colours in Diamant.

#139 ~ Sacred Sunday

106 stitches, and frogging metallic, in 2:42 minutes.  That's great progress really, and I can't wait for the DMC Diamant to arrive to start working on the crown (or halo).

This pattern is not too difficult to follow, even though it looks otherwise, and so it's made up my mind that when this has been finished I will stitch it again on 25 count 1 over 1 with silks and beads.  Don't misunderstand me, actually the Joy Sunday threads are not too bad, but I think this really, really, deserve special treatment.

Right, I'm off to spend some one on one with Colin for the rest of Sunday's stitching time.

#138 ~ Metallic madnes

Okay, so when I stitched the small cartouche on the left-hand side the metallics were not a problem.  However, her crown metallics proved such a car crash that I've started to rip them out.

The silver put a dratted hole in my threads ... although, with magic needle helped to repair it, hole has been enlarged.

The thought of stitching this again in the metallics that came with the kit is horrendous, and so I've ordered silver and gold DMC Diamant.  Fingers crossed for me that it will fix the problem.

As it's sacred Sunday, I have to stitch a minimum of 100 stitches on this .... so, watch this space and I will be back later on.

Hugs

#137 ~ A lot to crow about

New impetus after a little break from Colin.

#136 ~ Silver thread has broken me ...

I'm really not kidding.  It pulled a huge hole in my fabric when the first length of silver was started.

I'm going to have to rethink the thread.

#135 ~ It’s Swap out Saturday from now on ...

I've been spending so long working on the crow that everything else is sadly neglected. so, from now on I will swap and work on a different wip for at least 100 stitches.

It's been a while since my Russian Icon had some love. As a refresher, here is what I'm starting with.

It's a paper pattern, which meant that I had to download Goodnotes, and try to work out where the dickens I had got to.

I will up date you tonight with my progress.  As it will be Sunday ... under my new regime it will be Sacred Sunday, so she will get even more love.

I don't like keep referring to her as she, so from now on she'll be Lady Luda, after my favourite Russian-speaking cross-stitcher.

134 ~ OMG I love this WIP
