#314 - HAED Mini Bouquet - 49.59% completed

I am afraid that this is a retrospective post, and is slightly further on than the completion of Mission 36, Lines 141 to 150, oh and breaching the 50% mark (the percentage in the title of the post was at the completion of the Mission).

The WIP is further along sill now, and I am working my way through the final Mission on the Stitching Across the Galaxy challenge.

Not much stitching time has been possible, as there have other projects and chores, and I cannot fit too much in without resting.   The major thing this week has been/will be until it is done, helping the youngest kid with a Star Wars Jedi robe ... although needlework brigs up latent  childhood trauma for me LOL!  So far the tunic is sewn, and today we will be working on the neckband and lining.

#312 - rolags and a light at the beginning of the spinning tunnell

This afternoon I managed to fit in some time on my blending board to make Rolags (Marsham and Merino), and had five minutes to practice ... with a bit of a breakthrough in drafting and and spinning something that was not an over spun mess, too thick and thin, or falling apart because of under twist.

Co-ordination by dint of practice is the way clearly, and more importantly signals more retail therapy to stock up on more top or pre-made batt.

Two milestones too have been completed, lines 121 to 130 and Mission 34 (I've updated the Challenge Page in the top bar).

Mission 35 will be started later on this evening, and I think I should get it completed as well as it is only tiny at 122 stitches.  I was planning to break out my blending board and get some more rolags prepared as I have run out, not helpful that my DH zipped one up the vacuum pipe ... it was on the coffee table, so I am not going to speculate what he was doing to get it!!

Talking of rolags, it is good news on the spinning front, I did manage this week to actually spin something that looks a bit like yarn, doesn't pull easily apart, can ply back on itself and was thick and thin 'ish from the remaining two rolags.  Of course, whilst I had nothing better to do in hospital than lay around, I did watch an awful lot of  YouTube spinning tutorials and just plain old ASMR of people spinning, so I do believe that really has helped.  I have only been so long getting back to the wheel because I could not lift anything because of the medial procedure, or push and pull things, and I have been super-ma-dooper tired and a bit weak, but am on the mend.

I've given up making note of the stitch deficit between 2021 and 2022, but am steadily chipping away at it.  So, after making up some more DMC storage bags tomorrow, I will try for at least 400 stitches and then blend away for more rolags.  I do believe that this time last year I had some light days of stitching, so that 400 stitches will make a big dent and I might start to put the figure in print.

So too are lines 111 to 120.  Although, I had n unholy mess to work my way through nea the pink petals towards the right, and suspect that the next line around bout the same place may be in need of running creative genius to resolve some issues too.  It is very much a case of all the right colours, but not necessarily in the right place!

I don’t want to dwell on my health issues, but I would very much like to thank friends and family for being so kind, the flowers and cards have really boosted my vibration, at a I’m when it could have sunk so low.  Thank you, and I love you all.
