#475 - HAED - Patron Saint of the Hot Green Chile - 12.65% completed

 Day 58

I finally completed Page 2 at about 1.30 am this morning … I was determined to get it done. I was too tired to upload my progress, and then have been in the garden most of the day.

My foot hurts like the deuce now after wealding a fork for some seriously heavy weeding, but about an

About an hour ago I hobbled indoors and started finishing off Page 3 (not included in the phot above), but as we have BBQ  and Midsommer Murders new episode on, I don’t think I will get too much done towards it.

This WIP is such fun to stitch, and I’m loving the fact that I’ve just started on the corner of the cat’s ear.

#474 - HAED - Patron Saint of the Hot Greeting Chile - 11.76% completed

 Day 54

Page 1 finished, you can see the whole of it as some of the top section has been wound onto the scroll bar.

I am going to push on with this one, as there is not much more to do to finish page 2 … I’ve already made a start actually.

Not much to say other than that.  My foot is on the mend, but still painful, I tried to shop for shoes today and quickly realised it was a bad idea.

#473 - HAED - Mini Magic Book - 11.66% completed

 Day 18

Yippeeeeee, page 1 is complete … in 18 days.

I shall be glad to swap out, as it is not confetti heavy, it’s all confetti, and gosh darn hard work.

Still, it looks pretty, and an improvement on version 1.

According to XS Journal the predicted finish date is in early October this year, but I am not made of stern enough stuff to be monogamous.

My foot is on the mend, but I can’t get proper shoes on, or a wellie boot yet.  Not that I should be confessing that I’ve tried!

As soon as I get done with posting this, I will be swapping over to Alpaca, to do one page.

 Day 12 (partial)

Oh, this is such a challenging stitch, but I am super happy how it’s going.  I completed column three yesterday, and column four just now.  There are three columns to go on page one.

I’ve actually had a lot of t8me to stitch as I was waiting in for a delivery.  We had several updates on the likel6 time, which went whizzing off into the realm of history, and not a word to advise us that they were not going to deliver it.  It is a normal human reaction to be mad, and I am try to fight it, but I find the behaviour of some delivery companies to be very challenging.

Still, on a happy note, m6 foot is a little bit better today.

I’m hoping to get columns six and seven finished this weekend, as I really need a break from this much confetti.  M6 intention is to swap out every page to a new WIP, complete a page on the next one …. Rinse and repeat.  I can add in a new project when I have a finished piece, but it will be added in at the end of the current WIPs.  For example, I have this project, then Alpaca, Aquarius Rising, Patron Saint of the Hot Green Chilie, and then I can add in a new start to replace Custard Cream Dream Mini, which was a Contemporary Cross chart.  I can therefore start the Curiosity Cabinet with the monkey and flamingo.  If I finish a HAED then I can decide in my oldest HAED, which would be 12 Dancing Princesses, or elect to start another company’s chart.

Have a good weekend all.

 Day 9

That’s three columns completed, and whilst slooooowwwwww, it’s looking nice.

After supper I will make a start on column 4.

My foot is painful, but a little better today.  I think I might be able to carry out some light weeding in the garden tomorrow… I can sit on the raised bed and prod about at the weeds, or cut up the holly to put in the garden waste bin.

 Day 7

Considering it’s full on confetti he’ll, I’ve made decent progress.  Of course, this has been aided by the fact that I cannot do anything as I have broken my foot … so no gardening for me.

More of the same tomorrow, when I hop3 to get this current page tower done.

Day 2 and Day 3 (partial)

Well, what fabulous progress … I’ve reached the bottom o& page 1, in what I can only describe as an elongated tower a la #royalrows.  I’m intending to stitch this way tower but elongated tower across the whole top row of pages.  Really, I cannot think of a better way as it is not just confetti heavy, it’s CONFETTI all the way pretty much.

I have a Unicorn’s end appearing just at th3 bottom o& the column, which has seriously made my day (I don’t get out much).

#468 - HAED - Mini Magic Book - Let’s start again

 RESTART - Day 1 (partial)

In fact it might truly be version three, as I have a version 3 memory of starting it originally doing perhaps tent stitch on Easy Guide and then swapping out onto DMC Magic Guide in full cross, but I cannot be bothered to go and look back in the blog to ascertain that.

For many it might be madness that I had got this far

… but I took one look at it last night and cut out a piece of Zweigart to start over on 10 x 10 grid … I am a process stitcher and Magic Guide brings me up in hives as it is so difficult to park on with the indistinct lines and 20 x 20 grid. I cut down on time and ran blanket stitch down the edges of the fabric, I will go back in when it comes off the frame next week and go over the edges by hand with blanket stitch to re-enforce it.

I’m not losing stitches in my stitch count, as I last worked on it in late 2022, and I will still add to m6 stitch count with the re-start, so it is truly no biggie.

I made decent progress last night after taking this photo, and continued today.  I will drop in later with an update on another post.

I fully appreciate that some of you may need a rest to get over possible concern for my wasted effort, or indeed, might need to breathe into a paper bag, so I will see you later.

#467 - Contemporary Cross - Custard Cream Dream Mini - 100% completed

 Stitching Day 100

All done in 100 stitching days, although there have been 161 days since I started it in November 2022.

I just need to quickly roll the frame back up, and attend to his green measles, but that is only a few stitches.  I don’t want to cut them out as it might compromise the surrounding stitches, so I will over-stitch in the appropriate colour.

Next time you see this little chap is after he as been washed and will be ready for framing.  I’m not sure if I will do it, or it will be done professionally.  I do know, however, that I will be getting him his overly own little name badge …Topic.

 Day 99

I had a no stitch day yesterday, as we spent the majority of the day in the garden as I was just too tired to stitch.

However, that worked out fine as it has taken me (hopefully) to a finish tomorrow, which will be day 100.

I will, of course, have to have a look at his green measles, but I don’t think there are too many stitches involved.
