#390 - HAED Patron Saint of Green Chilie - 5.55% completed

Unfortunately, I did not get too much stitching time on the last day of the allocated 7 day slot in Rotation B, that went to the Emergency Room.  However, that notwithstanding I managed 357 stitches.

Rotation B 21; 14 and 7 day slots have now all been completed, and it is ticked off on my Planned Rotation List.  On to Rotation C, with Aquarius Rising in the 21 day slot, Mini Boot in the 14 day slot and Alpaca in the 7 day one.

I usually switch out the project on the frame,  but was too tired after yesterday’s adventure to do that, so will do that now, and as soon as I have gone out to get the medication from the pharmacy (they had none of it in the Emergency Room, but wanted me to start taking it ASAP) I might get a bit of stitching in.

#389 - smart thinking

I recently started using ball point needles(usually size 26, but have struggled to find an acceptable needle threader as the eyes are really quite small.  I can thread them without, but prefer not to jig around and am super fast with a threader.

For years I’ve had the same threader on a tatty bit of green ribbon, but it did not fit the ball point, so I started using a Hummingbird one, which is fine, and hangs off the same but if tatty ribbon which I hang around my neck.  It’s the perfect length and once on goes everywhere with me .... gardening, shopping etc.  Howe er, there is a drawbra k with the Hummingbird, one needs to remember to close the plastic beak over the hook, otherwise it can bend.  Which is exactly what happened.

I tried various alternatives, and had settled on the thick foil Hemline one, but there is no hold for the ribbon and it doesn’t stick to a needle minder, so have to sit it on the table and then scrabble around. For it all of the timeSo, I was delighted to see this Smart Fox by Sew Tasty in Heathfield Crafts this morning, and as it is stainless steel and brass it sticks to my needle minder.  The only drawback is there is no hole to thread my tatty ribbon through, but at least I can keep it off the table and close to hand.

It nicely fits the eye of the ball tip needle, and is super cute.  It was inexpensive, and nicely made, and I’ll report back in on how it performs.

Second day in to the final slot for the B rotation (7 days), you can see where I ended previously in post #388, which was circa 10 September 2022.

I managed 849 stitches today, between the laundry, weekly shop, the chimney being swept and making a delicious broccoli and cheese soup for supper.

I have concrete to shift tomorrow, but hope that I can get a decent amount of stitching into.

I’m still going great guns on this one, and for anyone getting a bit fed up of him, don’t worry there are only a few more days left of his slot.

Full disclosure, I might have made up a bit of the pattern on the current right hand side, or to put it a bit more kindly .... there are all the right colours, but not necessarily in the right order.  I think I was a stitch or line out and it’s a bit of a muddle.  I am sure by now gentle reader that this will be of no surprise, that unless it is in an area that’s crucial to a face/appendages of a person or animal, or drastically alters some kind of line, the frog is relegated to the pond down the road.  I may need to send smelling salts out though, as this casual attitude may provoke a triggering reaction in others.

Five days into my B rotation 14 day slot, and I’ve been going gang busters, with 4,407 stitches in that time.  What a difference block stitching makes.

I’ve also achieved just over the 60% marker, and have 92,949 stitches left to do.

I Whilst I am on here, i5 came to mind that I’d said I would put up the wrapped birthda6 gift, so here you go:

This is the second day working on Rotation B 14 day slot — last seen on post #363.

I’ve managed to finish the small amount of Towers left over from then, after completing 410 stitches today

… as it is noon, I have many more in me today, especially as I’ve set aside most of the day to stitch.

To match last year’s total, I had an official target today of 360, but was hoping to get 734 to take the amount of stitches left on this one to 96,000, which seems pretty much a doer!  Of course more would be nice.  Let’s see.

#381 - HAED Mini Magic Book - 27.42% completed

I was hoping that I’d get this current set of Towers done, but have to hold up my hands and plead ‘The Bridgertons’ as I watched three episodes today instead of stitching.

Still, considering the annoying amount of confetti aka Highwaymen, I managed a healthy 8,502 for this 21 day slot.

As the Two Ronnies used to say ‘and now for something completely different folks ...’ —— that being Alpaca in the Rotation B 14 day slot, which has a lovely sooperdooper amount of block colour stitching.

Wooo hooo, a quarter of the way through the design.

I adore the little tiny fairy just above above the text.  It turns out from the mock-up , that she appears particularly immodest!

Afternoon Tea at Horsted Place was lovely on Saturday just gone, and my friend seemed to like her present well. I will post pictures tomorrow.
