#185 ~ Second finish of 2021 ~ Tentmaker

 Started on 6 January 2021 - 26 days and 146.56 hours later

Tentmaker by Carolyn Manning is done ... and yes, I stitched this like it was my job!  However, it was the design that kept calling and pulling me forward.  I don’t want to raise my own flag, but the quality of stitching is fair to good.  There is always a reason to strive for near perfection though ... I stitch to stitch, not finish a project.

25 count Lugana 1 over 1.

Whilst this is my second finish this year it is the first start and finish combined this year.

I think I will drag out Alpaca HAED for some love now - see #164 for progress so far on the project.  I think it would be nice to set the intention of finishing off the 2nd row, which will not take too long.

Happy stitching.

#180 ~ more than I expected

... today actually, as I have vicious sciatica.  Still, 629 stitches took me to 45.31%.

Tentmaker

Strange vibes this weekend, and it feels very much like the quiet before the storm.

Stay safe and well, and do something that makes you happy.

#179 ~ cross-eyed

As I have pushed it today, nearly half done at 41.93% on Tentmaker

In uncertain times it might be a good idea to fall back on Brownies and Guide training, and be prepared.

#178 ~ Got some stashquasition today

... which I will share with you tomorrow, but here is progress on Tentmaker tonight

36.52% of straight up loveliness.

Apart from a couple of floss tubes I have mostly just watched the beautiful Aurora videos, which put me to sleep.

So I’m off to bed now peeps.

Goodnight and sweet dreams of stitching.

#176 ~ Needle pulling thread ..,

 Has got me thus far

Tentmaker

29.46% done.

In such turbulent times it is so calming to concentrate on the pop of the needle pushing through the fabric and the swoosh of the floss following on along.  Thaw hat can I say that is my jam, somebody else told me tonight I know that they  watch carpet cleaning videos, and my Son watches Korean cooking videos cooking meat and yet he is vegan.

What I am getting at I suppose is that anything that makes you switch the code and stops you giving awful, awful information and mis-information is a really good thing.

For the purpose of full disclosure I also cannot turn down a good cleaning video!

#175 ~ Ring o’ half a border

 Tentmaker

26.02% done.

Absolutely nothing to say tonight, I am dog tired after a sleepless night last night for some reason.

#174 ~ rag tag threads

 Tentmaker

... are really annoying, so I’ve just a park thread at the bottom, which also got rid of a couple.  Tomorrow I’ll concentrate on the top border to get rid of a few more.

That notwithstanding, decent progress and 22.61% done.

Stay well and don’t panic in these turbulent times.

#173 ~ Dashing away with a Pony ...

needle that is - size 26 and petite.  I decided against using my John James Quick Stitch needles, as it wears the floss a bit, also there is a lot of colour changes in this piece.

Tentmaker

19.96% and several days of 1000 plus stitches a day.

I have a few parked threads, but I would be the first to admit that the away waste threads on this look super messy (I don’t turn my frame over to either start or finish threads)

Stay safe.

#172 ~ This is seriously lovely

... lovely, lovely to stitch, and going so quickly.  I’m up to 3.34% in 2 days.

The best thing is I have two more of Carolyn’s designs.  I am truly blessed.

#171 ~ New Year new start

Tentmaker by Carolyn Manning.  I’m doing it 1 over 1 on 25 count Lugana.  I did try tent stitch, but is is simply not my thing

So far it is a nice easy pattern, and looks to be stitching up quickly.

#178 ~ My stitching companion

... decided to put in an appearance .., meet Monkey.

He has been sitting on my frame the whole time.  He has a back story and we might tell you about it one day.

I didn’t get a whole day stitching today, and therefore have fallen short of a finish.  Currently we are at 98.60%.  Instead I opted for quality gardening time with my darling hubby, and then had a nap for a few hours.

This week for sure it will be finished, and I can move on to something new and languishing WIPs.

Stay well and happy, and don’t let the rotters get you down.  They will probably throw aliens at us next!

#177 ~ Slowish progress

Leaving 900ish stitches to finish, it might be doable, as there are large blocks of colour.  If not tomorrow then Monday for a finish.

I have decided that I won’t be signing and dating this one, it will just have a label on the back of the frame.

Waiting in the wings is a Bothy Threads needlepoint cushion kit, which I am very excited about.

#176 ~ Happy New Year

I’ve gone from this last night

To this just now

Which was a whopping 700 plus stitches.  I am in the last 5% now, so if I can push it tomorrow and Sunday it is just possible to get a finish.  I would do more tonight but I’m quite cross eyed.

BTW has anyone seen my phone, it is missing in action.  I had it on Christmas Eve and can’t find the blessed thing.
