#465 - Contemporary Cross - Custard Cream Dream Mini - 91.34% completed

 Day 92

Page 8 … the penultimate one …. is done.  Just page 9, which is mostly background to go, so it should progress fairly rapidly.

We’ve been in the garden, and are both exhausted, however there is a possibility that I can knock off the corner of his biscuit after supper!

 Day 88

Little claws done, and three columns left on this page to complete.  It’s not perfect, we’ve discussed that before, but it will be done, and shortly too.

 Day 85

We are mostly friends again, and things are getting better … although still somewhat hellish confetti. I’m within a gnats behind of finishing this column, but am a little tired after a day of familial commitment.

Fingers crossed for reasonable gardening weather tomorrow, and time to do a decent amount of stitches.  I thin with confidence I can say I should at least finish the column.

#462 - The Elephant in the room

… or on the back of the quilt.

As the Guinea Pig is in detention due to the grey and cream colours being an absolute nightmare for these gimlet old eyes, I thought to motivate myself and try to move on the appliqué for the back of our God Daughter’s baby daughter.

I had to work try and work out where it would sit near the corner (obviously on the rear), and marked the corner with tacking stitches.  It’s been fairly successful,  up I could have moved in and up a bit … hey, only God is perfect, and I like to brace the imperfections in my life.  Actually, I have to as there are too many to it count them as blessings.

I now need to arm swipe the table to clear it, or put it all away properly, and lay set up the quilt sandwich. I wonder if I have some 505 spray?  If not, I will used the curved quilting pins.  It should not be too much of a pain as I think I’m going to used the nice wave pattern that the new machine has.  I usually go for a somewhat wave with different widths, but have to do that by simulating the wave pattern myself.  The reason I go for that type of quilting on one of these small quilts is that when it is then washed and put in the dryer it gives a puffy vintage look.  I did on the previous quilt I made for this baby’s sister.

 Day 82 (lunchtime)

I was hoping to finish page 7 yesterday, but as my lovely Mother-in-law is poorly, we took Easter Lunch to her, so by th3 time we arrived home it was too late to finish the 347 stitches required to get it done.

No matter, all done now … the yellow star pin marks the page boundary.

Now to move on to the penultimate page, with a page finish hopefully later in the week.

Day 78 - early morning

I’ve just finished a column, that was nearly there last night and I ran out of steam.

There are now four columns left to work in page 7, and as it is Easter weekend I’m hoping for decent progress as they are not too confetti-ridden.

 Day 73

Page 6 completed too.

Actually, I stitched a bit more after 5he photo was taken, and the scroll bars rolled down.

I’ve just added up my monthly stitch count for March, and nearly fell off of my chair … 24,229!

XSJ is indicating a predicted finish date of 31st May, but with a following wind it could be a lot earlier than then.
