#363 - HAED Alpaca - 58.33% completed

End of Rotation A, and i have made really good progress in this 3 week slot.

Now, tahhhh dahhhhh a new start for the 2 week slot in Rotation A.

I’m swapping out tonight in readiness to start Patron Saint of the Green Chilie by Jeff Haynie (see a few posts ago for the details).

The only thing to say at this point is that I’ve changed my mind on the way I’m going to work the full crosses, and am going to stick to the status quo of first leg bottom right to top left and second leg bottom left to top right ... I will go back in and edit the post to reflect this.

As it is. Ivermectin than Aplpaca I also need to swap out the scroll bars, and Alpaca will go on a slightly smaller set.

#362 - Haul

I needed to get some more fat quarters for more DMC storage bags, and also I’d run out of the plain grey cotton I use for the labels. So, yesterday I popped to Hobby Craft and picked up this adorable Peter Rabbit set of four, and a lovely rosebud pink metre for the labels.

Each fat quarter makes four bags, and the metre will go on for days for the labels.

Lu has cleared me out of interfacing, so I need to pick some of my favourite one from Heathfield Crafts today.

It is not often that I need to get other supplies ... except floss of course ... so it was a nice change to prowl the aisles of Hobby Craft yesterday.  I am pRoud of myself that I managed to steer clear of the Cricut one though, as that is the road to ruin for my pocket.

The Alpaca WIP is in its last two days of Rotation A - fingers crossed I can complete the full towers to FWOP, there are about 1,500 left though.

Still if I can’t there is the gratification of a new start for the Car.  It just needs to go on the scroll bars and swapped in on Sunday coming.

Right, time for a quick coffee and then a real treat ... the tip.

#360 - HAED Patron Saint of Green Chili - CAT

I am sure I shared with you recently that I’d finished processing floss for a new start.  Well, it was the for the wrong one.  So I’ve had to kit up for this one today.

A lot was in the Master Set, but these here are the additional colours I needed.

A stitcher’s work is never done.

#359 - HAED Alpaca - 55.54% completed

Rotation A - Day 4 of W/3

Also, 2 further full towers across the FWOP, which encompasses lines 301 to 320.

I am about a third way down into the next page block, and after that there will be two further full page blocks and one partial page block … a lot of which will be a lot of background - which I am fine with (apart from the pale colours).

#357 - Preping for new start and amended Rotation

I

I realised with the rotation of WIPs that I put in place a short time ago, that with just three of them, they were never going to move off their allotted spots, i.e. Alpaca 3 weeks, Aquarius Rising 2 week and Magic Book 1 week each.  So instead, I am inserting the above new start.  Currently, I am on the second go around of the original rotation, and so the pussy cat, is being inserted in between Alpaca and Aquarius Rising.  That way they will turn-and-turn-about get a three week slot.

This design was for Mother's Day I think, and he is just darling.  I am saying he, because my Grandparents had a cat just like this, called Mandy perversely.  He even has the same look on his face.

The vital statistics for him are:

Artist: Jeff Haynie

WIP Code:  CAT

No of colours:  89

Size:  500 wide by 625 high (20" by 25"

Fabric size:  32" by 38" with a three inch border - I was intending a 4" border, but it would have been too wide for my bars.

Fabric type:  25 count Easy Grid by Zweigart purchased Wool Warehouse; there was not much left over for 1.25 metres.

Methodology:  1 over 1.

** 29 August 2020 - EDITED - sticking with 1st leg bottom right to top left and 2nd leg bottom left to top right.  Parking top bottom right **

There are still two days and two weeks left (in the current three week slot) for Alpaca, and then the cat will be going in for the two week slot, and they will then all rotate around one after the other in a continuous pattern - thus all moving to a bigger or smaller allocation of weeks.  The rotation slots run from the current one, A through to I, which should take me a good way through the rest of this year, and stay then I will reassess. The intention is that if there is a finish within this, I will have a new start to replace the finished WIP ... hope that makes sense.

It was so hot yesterday, that I managed zero stitching, so I have to mark it down as a NSD - No Stitch Day.  I really should come up with some kind of forfeit for those days - there are not many though - as I feel I should at least put 5 stitches in!

As it is horrendously hot again today, I am not sure how much I will get done, but will give it a go a bit later.  Currenlty, I am blanket stitching the edge of my fabric for the CAT.  I could overstitch with the Singer Legacy Machine, but it never seems as secure as hand stitching when a project is on/off bars all of the time.

There has been some progress on Alpaca in this rotation, it is currently at 54.55% completed, and I've completed pages 15 to 18, which is up to lines 271-280.  Although I am happy to admit that I was way too lazy to take a photograph.

Still cool peeps.

#356 - HAED Mini Magic Book - 15.21% completed

One more day I is left on this WIPs one week rotation slot, so as I have finished a half tower over the full width of pattern, I will stitch in some of the parked threads on the bobbin.
