#90 ~ SMSL homework completed

Progress as at 16 June 2019
HAED Crow on Crescent Hill (aka Colin)

... and a really decent amount of progress.

I've reached the left-hand edge of page two a couple of diagonals ago, and you can now see the feathery grass at the top and seed heads on the left-hand edge.

It's been confetti hell, and could have been a complete car crash if it wasn't for diagonal stitching, working row by row.

Thanks to Karen the Needle Bug, I've also learnt to do the underline cast on, and have almost mastered the underline cast off (although I think I need to watch her video one more time to get it bang on).  It certainly makes it easier to park threads when you haven't got massive amounts of waste threads, or in a confetti hell area every given space used up with pin stitches.

Also, now that I have learnt to split the screen on Foxit PDF reader, it has made continuing diagonals across pages a utter breeze.

Realistically, I can't see Colin coming off the frame any time soon, and I apologise for this.  I need to check out whether in the Race for 10k challenge on For the Love of Diagonal Stitching FB group it is allowable to swap projects, and if it is I might swap over to Alwyn the Alpaca as I am 115 stitches away from half-way through the challenge and Alwyn would be much easier as whilst it has confetti it's not too many colours on the background ... is that cheating?  Technically, I guess not if you can swap projects!!!

Life update:  youngest is back from Uni for a week - it was a surprise for Papa, who had no idea he was coming home for Father's Day and was delighted when he opened the door when we got back home from the train station.  Also, number one son had a birthday last week and we went out en famille last night to Zizi's in Tunbridge Wells, where a good time was had by all.

Hugs

Kay xx
